Antonio Neri

Antonio Neri, age 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on March 22, 2025. He was born in Rocchetta A Volturno, (Prov. Di Isernia) Italia. At 18 years old, he immigrated to the U.S., became a citizen, settled in Chicago, and became a skilled union mason. Devoted husband of Erminia nee Caccia; loving father of Frank (Mary), Mark (Tammy) Neri, Stephanie (Rick) DeFilippis, and Maria Neri; dear stepfather of Emilio (Maria), late Giuliana, and Riccardo Ricci; beloved son of the late Franco and Maria (nee Pontarelli) Neri; fond grandfather of Franco (Fiancé Sol Berrios), Michael, Samantha Neri, Cristina and Jack DeFilippis; dear step grandfather of Michael (Kiara) Murphy, Kelli (Rik) Kaelin, Marco, Daniel, Roberto, Victoria, Oriana, and Giuliana Ricci; dear great grandfather of Sara and Anna Kaelin, Nico and Noah Murphy; loving brother of Anna (late little Joe) Pontarelli; fond uncle of Antonietta (Peppe) Mancini, and Franca (Gaetano) Motta; dear great uncle, Godfather, and friend of many. He was a member of Societa Maria S.S. Delle Grotte and Molisani Nel Mondo. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Cumberland Chapels from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will begin on Thursday at 9:00 am at the funeral home and will proceed to Our Lady of Ransom Church in Niles for Funeral Mass at 10:00 am. Entombment All Saints Mausoleum.
