Anthony John Calesini, age 98, United States Army 351st Combat Infantry of the 88th Division (Blue Devils) Rifleman Veteran of World War II, passed away peacefully at his home on May 2, 2024. Anthony was the beloved husband of the late Josephine, nee Petrarca; loving father of Claude (Diane Boney) Calesini, Tina (Chuck) Faso and Gina (Paul) Kruk and father in-law of Patricia Calesini; beloved son of the late Mary and Adolph Calesini; cherished grandfather of Michelle (Tony) Calesini-Keel, Christopher Calesini, Christopher (Katie) Kruk, Michael (Rebecca) Kruk, Andrew Kruk and Michael Faso; great grandfather of Angelia Pulos, Cora Calesini, Jack Kruk and Michael O'Brien; dear brother of the late Ezio (the late Norma) Calesini and brother in-law of Tony (Rose) Petrarca and the late Louise (the late Mike) Frasco, the late Irene (the late Paul) Krueger and the late Maria (the late Mario) Marchionna, and he was a fond uncle of many.
Anthony was a member of the Lake Zurich American Legion Post #964 and pursued a career in tool & die making for many years after serving in WWII.
Some of Tony’s favorite things included: watching movies (particularly war movies), chocolate, his wife's homemade fudge, listening to music of all types, dancing, going fishing, cars, fixing things, dogs, looking at photos, playing Rummifun, barbecued baby back ribs, and spending time with his grandkids. He was also very proud to have served his country.

Visitation Thursday, May 9, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of a 12:00 noon funeral service at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. The entombment will follow at Saint Joseph Catholic Mausoleum in River Grove. For more information call (708)456-8300.
