Anna Hiszczynski, age 87, beloved wife, mother, “Babi”, aunt, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Tenczyn, Poland, Anna embodied courage, determination, and generosity throughout her life.
At the age of 24, Anna made the brave decision to immigrate to the United States on her own in pursuit of a better future. Shortly after arriving, she met her husband the late Joseph Hiszczynski. Together they built a life centered on family, hard work, and unwavering devotion. They were blessed with twins, Robert and Elizabeth, who became the pride and joy of her life.
While raising her children, Anna pursued her dream of becoming a cosmetologist. After completing cosmetology school, she opened her first salon Magic Fingers, in 1970. Through her talent, dedication, and entrepreneurial spirit, she built and operated two successful salons over a remarkable 35-year career before retiring.
Retirement allowed Anna to embrace the passions she cherished most. She traveled extensively, explored the world with curiosity and enthusiasm, cultivated beautiful gardens, and became the beloved family dog sitter, always opening her home and heart to every four-legged family member.
Anna was the devoted daughter of the late Jan and Marianna Karpierz. She was one of seven children, with five brothers and one sister. Deeply devoted to her family, Anna helped create opportunities for each of her siblings to visit or establish lives in the United States, reflecting her generous and selfless nature.
She was a cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews who affectionately knew her as “Ciocia Hania.” Anna also shared a special bond with her late cousin, Marek Karpierz, and his wife Dorota and son Piotr as well as with Ania Nasilowski and her fiancee Piotr Al-Jindhi, and her children, Maya, and Arthur.
Anna will be remembered for her strength, determination, kindness, and devotion to family. Her journey from a small village in Poland to building a successful life and legacy in America serves as an inspiration to all who knew her. She leaves behind a family forever grateful for her love, sacrifice, and example.
Though she will be deeply missed, Anna’s spirit will live on in the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the memories she created with those she loved.
