Angelina Alongi, age 43, passed away peacefully at Resurrection Medical Center on July 1st, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Angelina, born in the town of Sombrerete, Zacatecas, Mexico, on July 21, 1982, will be remembered for her devotion to God, strength for her family, and the love she extended to all who knew her.
Angelina fearlessly immigrated to the United States of America at age 19 to create a better and flourishing life for her family. She married Joseph Alongi, and her life and legacy live on through her two daughters, Isabella and Gabriella Alongi. She was also a cherished daughter, granddaughter, niece, aunt, cousin, godmother, and friend to many. She spent her life committed to creating a beautiful home for Joe, Isabella, and Gabriella.
After being diagnosed with stage four ovarian cancer, Angelina fought against it with strong and steadfast faith in God and Our Lady of Guadalupe. Her unwavering faithfulness in God’s plan inspired many. She is admired and remembered for the bravery she embodied and exemplified for four years. Through each and every hardship, she found light and immense purpose to continue her difficult journey.
Throughout her life, Angelina was a proud board member of The Our Lady of Guadalupe Committee at St. Mother Theodore Guerin Parish, where she planned the most welcoming and exciting celebrations. Moreover, she was an avid volunteer at St. Celestine Parents Club, St.
Mother Theodore Guerin Parish, and Ride for Hope Ovarian Cancer Awareness. Her lasting efforts to create a safe and caring community across the many spaces she was part of were acknowledged by all.
Her many joys came from her talent and craft of baking, tending to her garden, cooking delicious meals, caring for her cats, Felix and Binx, seeking out knowledge, and spending time with friends and family dear to her. Her ultimate happiness came from seeing the smiles on her daughter's faces.
She will forever be remembered as a relentless fighter, lover of life, and magnificent person.
Visitation Tuesday, July 7, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL 60706. Funeral Services begin Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home and will proceed to St. Celestine Church for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
