Angela Ancona, nee Calabrese, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home on August 21, 2024, with her family by her side. Angela was the beloved wife of Beniamino for 58 wonderful years; loving mother of Filomena (Dino) Costa, Regina (Joseph) Malatesta and Mariangela (Jerry) DiSilvestro; dearest daughter of the late Regina, nee Pesole, and Nicola Calabrese; cherished nonna of Cristina, Joseph and Vanessa Malatesta, Domenico and Angelica DiSilvestro; dear sister of Rosa (the late Pierino) Carbonara, Graziella (Michele) Turi, Vito Calabrese, Clara (the late Alessandro) Verzillo, Domenico (June) Calabrese, Theresa (Vincenzo) D'Alessandro, and sister in law of Vito (Grazia) and Giuseppe (the late Teresa) Ancona, Maria (Nicola) DiLorenzo and Laura (Peter) Caragiulo; fond aunt of many.
Angela was a former member of the Maria SS. Della Croce Di Triggiano Chicago. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Alzheimer's Association at alz.org would be appreciated.
Visitation Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. We will then proceed to St. Priscilla Church 6949 W. Addison, Chicago, for Mass at 12:00 p.m., and the interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove. For more information call (708)456-8300.
