Andrew Miller

Andrew J. Miller, Sr., 91, of Elmwood Park, passed away Oct. 22, 2014, at Rainbow Hospice Ark, Park Ridge. Loving husband of Betty, nee Van Wiele, for nearly 68 years; father of Andrew J. (Roxanne) Miller, Jr., James (Carol) Miller, Christine (Robert) Matlock, and Edward (Debra) Miller; grandfather of Stephanie, Shannon, Holly, Edward, Wendy, Jennifer, James, Michelle, Christopher, Amanda, Catherine, Patricia, Andrew and Michael; great-grandfather of 13; uncle to many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents, James and Anna (nee Henricksen) Miller; a brother James, and sisters Grace, Ethel and Marge; and granddaughter Karen. Born Feb. 8, 1923, in Chicago. Joined US Navy Seabees in 1942. Served in WWII until discharged in 1946. Recipient of Bronze Star. Past Commander, VFW Post 6868; current member, VFW Post 3579. Visitation Sunday, Oct. 26 from 2 to 8 p.m. and Monday, Oct. 27 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service 11 a.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge.
