Amparo Mercedes Camba was born in the province of Pinar del Rio, in the west side of Cuba, to her parents Pascual Ramon y Onelia Mayor in June 28, 1939. She grew up in Minas de Matahambre, and she obtained a primary school teaching degree in Pinar del Rio. She met and married a local boy, Nicasio Noel Camba when she was 19 years old. She worked as a school teacher and had two children. In February 28, 1972 the family moved to Madrid Spain. There, she taught children at a private school for almost 3 years. She then worked as a schoolteacher and obtained her Master’s degree, as well. She was well loved by her co-educators and students, who still remember her care, knowledge and enthusiasm even years later.
