Allan Firak

December 13, 1929 — October 3, 2024

Allan J. Firak, age 94, of Woodstock, formerly of Chicago, beloved husband of the late Barbara and loving father of the late Thomas. He was a devoted grandfather to John (Kari), Stephen (Amber), and a proud great-grandfather to Max, Lola and Jeff Firak. Allan was the cherished brother of Gerald (Betty) and dear uncle to Jim (Dianna) Firak, Karen (Scott) Simpson, and great-uncle to Matt and Gary (Liz) Firak. He was also a loving brother-in-law to Chuck Suvanto and a devoted uncle to Kelly Suvanto and her son Gage.



Allan was a graduate of Lane Tech High School and Michigan Technological University in Houghton, Michigan, where he earned a BS in Civil Engineering. He was the manager of the Civil Department at UOP Procon Inc. in Chicago and Des Plaines, IL. Allan also served as executive vice president and COO of EPC International in Mt. Prospect, IL. He was a past president of the Oriole Park Community Club and a member of the Local School Council of Oriole Park Elementary School during his time in Chicago. Allan was a long-time member of Montrose Baptist Church in Chicago.



Visitation Friday, October 18, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. until the time of a 10:30 a.m. Service at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. The interment will follow at Union Ridge Cemetery in Chicago. For more information call (708)456-8300.
