Albert "Wojciech" Myrdacz, age 87, passed away on September 3, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Albert was the beloved husband of the late Mary "Marysia" Kaczor for over 55 years.  He was the loving father of Sophia (James) Erskine, John Myrdacz and Lucille (David) Niznik; dearest son of the late Zofia and Ludwig Myrdacz; cherished grandfather of Michael, Timothy and Samantha Erskine, Bryan, Brandon, Connor, Nicole and Jessica Niznik; dearest brother of Stanley (Maria) Myrdacz, Rose (Joseph) Landowski, Harriet (Joseph) Parzygnat, the late Josephine, John and Zofia Myrdacz; fond uncle and friend of many.  Albert was born on a farm in his native mountain village of Obidowa, Poland  where his love for the outdoors began; his early years spent as a shepherd of sheep in the mountains; he served in the Polish National Army, assigned to the Tank Division, as a specialized ammunition loader. Albert came to the United States of America, with his beloved wife in the years that followed.  His passion and respect for the outdoors spanned his entire life; he especially enjoyed deer hunting with his son, and best friend John, amongst the majestic pines throughout Wisconsin; they were inseparable til the end. He was a proud "Goral", Polish Highlander, that instilled many cherished cultural traditions into his family. Visitation Friday, September 10, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave, Norridge, IL. Funeral services begin at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home, and proceed to St. Stanislaus Bishop and Martyr Church 5352 W. Belden, Chicago for Mass at 10:30 a.m. The interment will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles, IL. For more information call (708)456-8300.
