It is with a heavy heart we announce the passing of Agnes A. Ramirez, 83, on October 26, 2025. Agnes was born in the Philippines in 1942 and married her beloved husband, Rollie on January 7, 1961 in San Pablo City at ages 16 and 17. He preceded her in death on November 13, 2021.
Agnes lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She came to the United States with her family in 1972, already holding an Associate’s Degree. She took pride in her first job, earning her first paycheck at $2.15 an hour, a small beginning that reflected her strong work ethic. She went on to build a long career at Fluor Daniel from 1975 to 1997 and then for ten years at Bank of America. Even after retiring in 2008, she stayed active through part-time work at Sam’s Club, where she loved sharing smiles, offering food samples, and making friends. Agnes was known for her presence and could always be found at family and friends’ gatherings, enjoying moments with those she loved. She especially enjoyed trips to the casino with her children, sisters, and grandchildren, creating memories, sharing laughter and even the occasional win. Agnes found joy in life’s simple pleasures, treasuring every moment with her family.
She is survived by her three children: Dennis (Maricel) Ramirez, Ruth (Chris) Cordova, Rolly (Eleonor) Ramirez Jr.; her 10 grandchildren: Diane (David), Greg, Bryan (Edith), Arielle (Andres), Gabriella, Cristian (Oliver), Isabella, Alyssa, Robert, Raymond; three great grandchildren: Jeazella, Jackson, Jaelyn; three sisters: Edith (Manning), Tessie, Shirley; brother: Voltaire
Proceeded by her husband Rollie Ramirez; two brothers Lito and Jun; daughter Josephine; and son Robert.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Cumberland Chapels at 8300 W. Lawrence Ave Norridge, IL 60706. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home on Friday at 9:30 am and will proceed to St. Eugene Catholic Church for Mass at 10 :30 am. Interment will follow at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery.
