Aaron Ruiz

Aaron A. Ruiz, age 44, a proud Army veteran, and former Chicago Police Department and Bensenville Police Department officer passed away unexpectedly on October 31, 2024. Aaron was the beloved partner of Marijana Petrovic; loving father of Anthony and Maya Petrovic-Ruiz; dearest son of Guillermina "Mina" Alvarado and Oscar Ruiz; dear brother of Sophia, Samantha, Daniel and Stephanie Ruiz; cherished grandson of Dolores and Antonio Alvarado and Theresa and Daniel Martinez; son in law to be of Mara and Anto Petrovic; proud uncle of Lucy, Marina and Vanessa.

In addition to being a former Chicago and Bensenville Police officer, Aaron also worked as a Corrections Officer at Stateville Correctional Center. He was currently a Rehabilitation Counselor for the State of Illinois Department of Health and Human Services. As well as the current wrestling coach for Maine Township West High School.

Visitation Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge. Funeral services begin at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, at the funeral home, and then proceed to St. Eugene Church in Chicago for Mass at 10:30 a.m. The entombment will follow at Christ the King Mausoleum within Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
